“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” (Psalm 133:1)
Sunday, 22nd November 2020
Updated versions of the Church Constitution are now available below in both English and Arabic, alongside the updated English version of the Property Trust Act. These updated drafts reflect the feedback we have received so far on the documents. They are still in draft form! A statement from His Eminence Metropolitan Tadros (from Sunday 15 November 2020) can also be read below.

There have also been rumours and false claims circulating recently regarding the documents. Whilst we greatly encourage healthy discussion and debate, we must ensure these discussions are based on fact. The documents below (amended 22 November 2020, upon His Emince’s request), in both English and Arabic, set out some background regarding why these amendments were initially proposed, why they are critical to ensure the good governance and future of our Diocese.

It is important to note that, from the outset, this whole process to amend our Diocese’s founding documents (and to implement a Board of Trustees structure) proceeded under the guidance of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II. We encourage you to read the attached documents and circulate widely.
The period for feedback remains extended until 11.59pm on Monday 7 December, and the Google Form can be filled out beneath the original message below.
Dear Beloved Congregation,
As agreed between the Interim Board of Trustees and HG Bishop Daniel, and with the support of His Eminence Metropolitan Tadros, a review of the Church Constitution and Property Trust Act for our Diocese was conducted.
In keeping with our commitment to transparency the documents and recommended amendments are now being shared for feedback.
It is worth highlighting that the only major change to the Constitution is a move from a sole Trustee structure, to a Board of 7 Trustees. HG Bishop Daniel will be appointed as one of those Trustees.
The congregation have an opportunity to read the updated Church Constitution and Property Trust Act in full on the Diocese website and offer feedback via this form as part of the consultation process, which will conclude at 11.59pm on Monday 7 December.
You are invited offer feedback via the linked Google Form below.
May God continue to protect, guide and bless our Diocese for the glory of His name.
God Bless,
Interim Board of Trustees
